It was interesting when reading through the different chapters and pages the idea of people standing and telling these stories for sometimes hours, and even for competition.
When reading through the Odyssey it's interesting to get a sense of all of what is going on. Throughout pages 26 and 41 we are shown, and also told, that the men are aboard some kind of ship and are traveling through different locations. We see that they were met my the Lotus Eaters that turned Odysseus men into nothing more than forgetful creatures when they were given drugged honey plants to eat. (30-55)
When thinking about the idea of biased writing throughout the Odyssey, we can see that
Odysseus has some strong opinions about many of the creatures that they come across. For example, the Cyclops. Even though it may be wise to access what you are dealing with before you journey out, I feel as if their are some unfair thinking about these creatures.
