With no other options, Enola writes apon her two brothers Mycroft Holmes (Sam Claflin), and her brother, Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) Her brothers are dismayed once they find the state that both Enola and the house where they once grow up up in as teenage boys and instantly take control. While Mycroft plans to her off to finish school, Sherlock uses his detective skills not only to find their lost mother, who appears to be caught up in a potentially violent women's suffrage movement but also a strange sister. Enola works up a plan to escape both of her brothers and makes her way to London to find her mother herself when she comes entangled with the matters of a young Lord Tewksbury (Louis Partridge), who's on the run from both his family and a murderous mystery man.
The special effects in Enola Holmes are done incredibly well. Even though the environment that which the movie is filmed is simple, there are still hints of CGI and VFX throughout the film, however, they are done with such talent, that most fans wouldn't even know. For instance, when Enola and Tewksbury just meet, the man who's hired to kill Lord Tewksbury appears on the train as both young characters are trying to escape their life and find out
answers for themselves.
Pros and Cons
When it comes to the pros and cons of this film, the pro's definitely overweigh the cons. Throughout the movie, we get a sense of strong independent role models in each scene and scenario. Also, the casting list is incredible! They ranked up some of the best actors and actresses.
Other's Pros in this movie are that every character models courage, intelligence, integrity, and shares with the watcher's that it's okay to be different.
The scenes in this movie are also truly beautiful! The videography is done very, very well. It's welcoming to the eye, there are such vivid colors, clear photoshoots and etc.
Some of the cons that watchers may be sensitive to would be dealing with a time period where women were fighting ever so hard for rights. We see incredible real-life situations all throughout this movie such as bombing, bounty hunters, underground fight clubs, secretive women's rights meetings, etc. It is shown throughout the film that Enola is a disgrace to her two brothers for the way she had been raised by her mother to be independent, and not get distracted by men. Though Sherlock seems like more of the loving brother, the oldest Mycroft plans to send her off to a finishing school in hopes of 'curing' her of her habits. Luckily for Enola's quest, this doesn't quite work out.
