Steve Mccurry is a contemporary photographer. He’s been taking pictures for over 5 decades and worked himself up to one of the top iconic figures in photography. Most of the pictures that he
has taken were inspired by and taken in India. According to his biography, he traveled all over India with not much more than a back of clothes, some film, and his camera. He shares with us his pictures of a series of vanishing cultures, different environmental conflicts, ancient traditions, and also contemporary culture

Steve Mccurry was born in Philidelphia in the year 1950. He has been photographed many times for the cover of National Geographic. One of the photos that he has taken that has been displayed many times has been Afgan Girl. This photo was taken in 1984 with a Nikon FM2 camera and Nikkor 105mm Ai-S F2.5 lens. According to Wikipedia, “The image of her face, with a red scarf draped loosely over her head and her eyes staring directly into the camera, was named "the most recognized photograph" in the magazine's history, and the cover is one of National Geographic's best known.”
